AM - 7 miles easy

PM - 12 miles, consisting of an easy 3 miles warm-up then tempo for 6 miles at HR 160-165 ~6:2X pace, then an easy 3 crusing in.

Can't say enough about the time I'm getting to run now...  I need to change jobs more often.  My only fear as that my calf will start acting up and I'l be sidelined for a couple of weeks.  Knock on wood that all is healthy and going good.

10 miles in the AM out and back on a fairly hilly course with a AHR of 148. Cloudy, cold, spotty rain and windy most of the day.   I got out again around 3:30 when there was a break in the clouds and headed to the track for some intervals, 4 x 800, slowest in 3:01, fastest in 2:55.  Getting there slowly but feeling good and encouraged. 16 miles for the day, legs feel great.

Currently I have a great week going for me and I plan to make it even greater...  All cylinders are firing and running has become fun again, which makes for great intervals and tempo runs.

As of yesterday I have become a free agent in the job market.  I never really felt comfortable or appreciated at this job, I'm surprised I stayed there as long as I did (almost 5 years). So now I have some time to log in some extra miles which I'm more than happy to do, and spend some more quality time with my kido's.  Anybody looking for someone with 24+ years experience in the Purchasing/Procurement field?

A.M. - 10 miles, easy pace

It's been almost a week so I thought I'd better post something.  This week has been sort of a turning point for me. My runs have been much quicker and much easier if that makes sense. I've got over that hump of not feeling very fast to feeling somewhat fast...

I haven't decided what I'm going to run on the track tonight, maybe 600's, maybe 800's.  I'll flip a coin when I get there...  the weather has been downright nasty, cold/windy/rainy over the last 4-5 days but I've managed to get out when there's a lull so I have yet to get a deluge of rain while running.

A little over two weeks now until the Mini and I'm still hopeful to get down around my goal. There won't be major dissapointment if I don't however.

Looking to go around 18 this Sunday with some faster stuff thrown in the middle of it, feeling good!

Now that's a cold slap in the face...

Great workout yesterday, another 8 x 400 session that felt much better than the week before.  Followed that up with 9 x stair loop...  legs feel pretty good today.

Progress...  Yesterday was the upteenth annual Mastodon Stomp 5k. It's run on and around the campus of IPFW.  Not really a course to set a PR on as there are a lot of twists and turns.  Yesterdays temps at race time were almost near the high of the day at 83 degrees.  My warm-up went well and legs seem to be out of the funk they were in the the previous couple of days. First mile was a bit fast (which it always is) and the rest of the race went about as planned. I ended up with a 19:24 which is just about what I thought I could do right now. Of course I had Rick's prediction dancing in my head after my 5:55 first mile, but then came to my senses as the race progressed.  The heat became a factor toward the end as I was just melting not being used to the temps...  Another 7 weeks until my next 5k and the goal is to be in the 17's by then.  A shot below post race of myself and some of the top masters in the area.

Legs felt like dogsh*t during my run today... Legs were heavy and my breathing was off.  Here's hoping things turn around for tomorrows 5k.

Great weather today at a comfortable 64 degrees, took the kiddo's to the park and tossed the baseball for awhile. Temps are forecasting to be almost 20 degrees warmer tomorrow.

Decent week for me so far...  I banged out 8 x 400 on Tuesday and a nice 5m tempo run yesterday.  A lot of stair running throughout the week as well. Looking forward to this weekend where on Sunday the temp's are forecasted in the lower 80's.  How's that for early April! I may be racing shirtless....

Great weekend weather wise and running wise.  An easy 6 on Saturday before heading off to Indy to visit my brother and his significant other who's about 5 weeks out from having there first child.  Glad he's joing the team of the sleep deprived!  Went 13.5 yesterday which felt great and happy to be heading in the right direction.

I have another local 5k this coming weekend and hope to make some forward strides there. It's an annual 5k I haven't done in a long time but it happens to be a Track Club points race this year so I thought I'd at least make a showing and try to earn some points.  Given my time from the 20k a week ago and not being 100%, I think I can manage to squeak out something under 19:30, which almost sounds embarrasing given my 5k times over the last couple of years, but still it should show that at least I'm moving in the right direction.

Feelings tons better these days..  Hit the track yesterday and knocked out some quarter repeats to at least get some turnover.  Nothing to brag about, 6 x 400, 1:23 - 1:27, with :45 RI.  Felt good to open up the stride a bit.  After I was done with these, I did eight laps on the stairs for around 1200' of vertical.  Legs don't feel half bad today...  will start to crank up the volume on my weekend runs to get ready for Sunburst in June.  The plan is to run something under 3:10 so I can get into Boston 2012 and make that 1st day registration.  5 weeks until the Indy Mini and I'm having doubts about getting down to my goal this year.  I guess it all depends on how I bounce back this coming week and next from my down time being sick.
